Q: Why should I choose an artificial green instead of a natural green?
A: Maintaining a natural green requires a lot of time, effort and
money. It is practically undoable if you take into account that you
have to mow and fertilize daily, and you will have to use pesticides
and re seed regularly.
Q: Can you compare a FiberGrass green to a natural green?
A:
Yes and No. Yes, because the effect of your golf ball is the same as it
would be on a natural green. NO because your green is strong and cannot
be damaged. Even when your kids play on it, it still keeps in perfect
shape!.
Q: How does a high ball that lands on a FiberGrass Green react?
A: The ball reacts in exactly the same way as if you were playing on a natural green. Even backspin is possible.
Q: Does the weather influence the FiberGrass Green?
A:
Your FiberGrass Green will survive any kind of weather: rain, hail,
snow and sun. It is protected by a special UV coating. Even animals can
do no harm.
Q: Do I need drainage?
A:
We will need to ascertain whether you need drainage from the initial
excavation. In 9 out of 10 cases drainage is not necessary. Our highly
qualified gardeners will advise you.
Q: How important is the infill used in the green?
A:
Every square meter requires 40 kilograms of FiberFill – Performance
Quartz. They are 100% round, therefore they will never compact over
time – keeping your green playable for the entire lifespan. It is the
infill that makes a Private Green a true Private Green and the edge
over other greens available on the market. The weight makes the green
stay solid and maintain its shape over time.
Q: Are there limitations to the size and shape of the green?
A:
We have installed greens that vary from 20 to 500 square metres and
bigger on full size golf courses. The typical green is an average of
100 square meters. We can also recreate your favourite green at your
golf club or your fantasy green – 12th at AUGUSTA?
Q: What is the maximum speed (stimp) for a FiberGrass Green?
A:
The speed is adjustable by either rolling (speeds the green up) or
brooming (slows the green down) When you have a Private Green
installed, included in the package is a roller, broom and stimp meter.
You can therefore vary and monitor the speed of your green at any time.
Typically, the speeds vary between 6 and 12 on a stimp meter. If you
are brave, you can get them even quicker!
Q: How much maintenance does a FiberGrass Green need?
A: Practically none. You will need to roll it every now and then and remove leaves, twigs etc.
Q: How long does a FiberGrass Green last?
A:
FiberGrass has been installing greens internationally for the past 12
years. Typically, there is no reason why your green should not last to
the 50 year mark. Greens installed in America, over 20 years ago are
still going strong! Guarantee??? |
